Financial Inclusion

We, at Cheshire Gypsy and Travellers Voice are too aware of the financial exclusion issues which affect Gypsies and Travellers not only in Cheshire but nationally.  We have worked on these issues for several years helping hundreds of people to access financial services they normally would not be able to obtain.  We work at grass roots levels, regionally, nationally and internationally to ensure that both communities have equality of opportunity in accessing financial products.

If you would like more information please contact us on our helpline number or through our email address info@travellersvoice.org

Youth @ Cheshire Gypsy and Travellers Voice

We currently run a youth club for young Gypsies and Travellers at The Edge Community Centre every Tuesday, this youth club was designed for young people by young people, even the funding to run was won by our young people.  There are numerous activities for young people to do or just hang out with friends in a safe environment.   If you or anyone who you know who may be interested, please call our helpline number or email info@travellersvoice.org

We are always looking for input from young people and we have a lot of young volunteers who help us with our role, volunteers can gain a lot from their roles in addition to giving something back to their community. Our very first volunteer LisaMarie went on to undertake an apprenticeship with us and went on to win Apprentice of the Year in Business Services 2009.  If you are interested in volunteering, please contact us, you don't know what you may achieve.

Romany Wagon Restoration

Cheshire Gypsy and Travellers Voice were kindly donated a Ledge Wagon (probably the oldest in the country) earlier this year.  This wagon has as much of its own history through the family who owned it as it does within our direct community.  The wagon will be on displayas a work in progress at our open day on the 25th / 26th June 2011.

Please keep checking this space for updates and photographs of the process.
